How the SBGA Can Help You Grow Your Small Business
The Small Business Growth Council (SBGC) is a resource for small businesses looking to grow and scale their companies. As part of its mission to help small businesses succeed, the SBGC has created programs that support different aspects of business growth. These programs include workshops, educational resources, one-on-one advising, and networking events with other business owners. The SBGC also provides grants up to $25,000 for qualifying small businesses. If you’re interested in exploring how the SBGC can help your business grow, read on for more information.
What is the SBGA?
The SBGA is a grant program for all types of small businesses, including for-profit and nonprofit organizations. It’s designed to support entrepreneurs and small business owners with scalable ideas. If you are looking for funding to grow your business, the SBGA program could be a great option. The SBGA offers grants of $25,000 to qualifying businesses. The program is free to apply, and there is no equity requirement. You do not need to be a member of the SBGC to apply.
The SBGC hosts workshops on topics like data analytics, marketing, sales, and scaling your business. These workshops provide an opportunity to gain insights and share ideas with other entrepreneurs. Each workshop includes a curriculum that can be accessed online to help you apply what you learn to your own business. The workshops are free and open to the public. If you’re interested in attending a workshop, you can find a list of upcoming events here.
SBGC Education Sessions
The SBGC also hosts educational sessions on topics like financing options for small businesses, building a culture of innovation, and how to scale your business with AI and automation. These events are also open to the public and free to attend. You can find a list of upcoming events here.
SBGC One-on-One Advising
If you are exploring an idea for your business or are in the early stages of getting your company off the ground, one-on-one advising could help. SBGC advisors can help you assess your business model, explore your company’s strategy, or strategize around your marketing and sales. You do not need to be a member of the SBGC to participate in one-on-one advising. To participate, you can apply online. You can apply as an individual, or you can be part of a team working on a specific project. Applications are accepted year-round and are reviewed on a rolling basis. Once you have applied and been approved to participate in one-on-one advising, you will be matched with an advisor based on your project focus. You will then schedule an advising session with your advisor via Zoom, a video conferencing platform. You can select a 30-minute session or a 60-minute session. The advising sessions are free to participate in.
SBGC Networking Events
The SBGC hosts networking events in different cities around the country, including in Silicon Valley, New York, Boston, Austin, and Chicago. You can find a list of upcoming events here. These events provide an opportunity to meet other business owners and learn from one another. If you are interested in hosting a networking event in your city, contact the SBGC at email@example.com.
