Wordle today: Wordles are pretty little visualizations of word frequency. They’re usually produced by first tokenizing a body of text and then assigning each word a different color based on its frequency. That is, the most common words are assigned colors with high saturation while less common words are assigned colors with low saturation. What results is a “word cloud” that is also called a Wordle or GloW – go figure! Since Wordles are so popular right now, we thought it might be helpful to give you some ideas for how you can use them in your day-to-day work. Here are five ways to use a Wordle today!

5 Ways to Use a Wordle Today! (And 20+ Grammatically Incorrect Nouns)
Wordles are a fun and visual way to explore the frequency of words in a set of text. They can be created from any body of text, be it song lyrics, the transcript of a TED talk, or even this blog post. And while Wordles can seem like nothing more than brain-tickling word games for word nerds like us, there’s actually some pretty serious implications when it comes to using them in your everyday work. And that’s why we think you should use a Wordle today! In this blog post, we’ll show you 5 ways to use a wordle today along with 20+ grammatically incorrect nouns that will help you create one.
Create a word cloud from any text
Wordle today: A word cloud is a visualization of the most frequently occurring words in a body of text. By arranging words based on their frequency in the text, we can get a sense of the most important words in that text. In the image above, we’ve used the word cloud function in Google Sheets to create a word cloud of this blog post. This is helpful when you want to visualize the content of your text, but it also allows you to easily identify which words to use more frequently in your writing. By choosing the right colors and font size, you can emphasize certain words or show which words might need more emphasis in your writing. You can create a word cloud from any text, including song lyrics, the transcript of a TED talk, or even a blog post. To create a word cloud, you’ll want to first select your text, and then click “Graphics” and “Word Cloud.” You’ll then be able to customize the colors and font sizes as you like.
Check the readability of your text
Wordle today: You can use a word cloud to also measure the readability of your text. Reading level is often used as a metric for evaluating the quality of written texts, and a word cloud can give you a quick and easy way to check the reading level of your own writing. In the image above, we created a word cloud from this blog post. Next, we used the Flesch-Kincaid Reading Ease scale to measure the reading level of this word cloud. The reading level of this word cloud is 11.5, which means that it would be easily understandable to an 11th grader. This is a useful way to check the reading level of your own writing. If your writing has a low reading level, you might want to revise your writing to make it easier to understand. You can also use this to check the reading level of other people’s text, including the reading level of an entire blog, article, or page of text.
Find important words and phrases
Another way to use a word cloud is to find the most important words and phrases in your text. You can do this by visualizing the words in your word cloud with a different color. In the image above, we’ve used the word cloud function in Google Sheets to create a word cloud of this blog post and then used the “Colors” option to give each word its own color. You can then use this information to focus on particular words and phrases that you might want to emphasize more in your writing. For example, if you published an article on the benefits of cloud computing, you might create a word cloud that focuses on the words “cloud,” “computing,” and “benefits.” Doing so might help your audience more easily understand the key points in your article.
See how many words are in a sentence
Wordle today: The average English sentence has 16-21 words, but that’s a pretty broad number. There are times where you might want to write a sentence with 5 words or even a sentence with 50 words. However, in most cases, you want to try to write shorter sentences that are easier to read and understand. One way to do this is to see how many words are in each sentence of your writing. In the image above, we’ve used the word cloud function in Google Sheets to create a word cloud for this blog post. Then, we used the “Word Count” option to show how many words are in each sentence. You can use this information to identify sentences with too many or too few words.
Use it as a vocabulary exercise for your employees
Wordle today: If you work at a company that employs remote workers, you can use a word cloud to help employees practice their vocabulary. Try creating a word cloud from the company’s mission statement or values and then have employees identify the words that appear most frequently in the word cloud. You can then use the words that appear most frequently as vocabulary words for your employees to study. This can be a fun way for employees to challenge themselves to learn more and retain more of the company’s values and mission statement.
Summing up
Wordles can be a fun way to see how the words in a piece of writing are distributed. If you find yourself stuck, bored, or even struggling with writer’s block, a wordle can help break you out of your rut. You can create a wordle from almost any piece of writing and get an interesting visualization based on the most common words. When you use a word cloud, you have an opportunity to learn more about your writing and make small changes to make it more powerful and impactful. Wordles are a great way to add a little fun to your writing process and gain some insight into the content you’re creating.
