A Brief Guide For Digital Valves Inspection

The proper inspection and prolongation of the valves are very necessary. This is because industrial equipment works smoothly as long as the valves installed within them are working properly. The overall quantity and quality of the products in a factory depend upon the optimal working of the pneumatic proportional valves. This is why the valves need to be kept an eye on so that any smaller to greater issues could be detected and fixed timely. So let’s check what possible inspections you need to do for your valves.

Track Valve Flow Rate:

The working of pneumatic flow control valves is just like that of a car. That is why when running, the proper working potential of the valve lets the maximum fluid flow across it. When there is a fire flow, the maximum momentum of the valve is required to generate excessive pressure to throw water over long distances. Otherwise, the regulated pressure of up to 50 psi will work.

If there are a couple of pneumatic proportional valves connected in parallel combination, then it is predefined that the first one generates high pressure while the other one generates lower pressure. The turning of the spindle of the low-pressure valve in a clockwise direction will decide the pressure change for the one generating higher pressure.

Strainers’ Cleaning:

Coming to the Pilot systems, they have pneumatic proportional valves already built-in. The Pilot systems take supply from the inlet terminal of the valve. These valves contain external strainers or flush filters that rotate about each other to regulate the flow of the water. And this repetition is periodic that repeats itself every 3-5 seconds.

Due to this rotation, friction may produce between the internal walls of the strainer and flush filters. Due to this, the strainers get accumulated with greasy material that may cause blockage to their rotation. This needs to be repaired as soon as possible to avoid any severe valve failure.

Blockage of Air:

Sometimes due to the long run of the valve, the air gets packed in the pilot system. This has very drastic effects that may lead to the bursting of the piping system area within which the valve is installed. In this condition, let the air present in the valve bonnet expel through the outlet spindle. Check the positions of the control valve that must be perpendicular to the position indicators and the air-bleeding cock must be placed at the top of it. Turn this bleeding cock clockwise so that the air filled immediately runs out of the valve.

There is another high point pouring water into which will let the trapped air escape smoothly. When you pour water, you will see a white foamy fluid coming out, this means that the air was present in it. And in case there is no bubble seen while pouring water, shut the valve instantly as there is no air inside.

Inspection and maintenance of the pneumatic proportional valves are very necessary for proper working and that is why you should follow the guides aforementioned to troubleshoot and fix the problems associated with the valves.
