Some employees may have trouble finding child care or can’t afford the expense of an evening out with co-workers (buying holiday clothes, dry cleaning, restaurant and taxi costs, etc.).

A potluck lunch or dinner is where everyone attending brings a “covered dish” or other menu item to the party.
