Creating a Facebook Page for your business gives you access to numerous tools.

That can help you expand your reach.

1. Go to https://www.facebook.com/pages/create in a web browser.

If you’re already signed into your personal Facebook account, you’ll see the “Create a Page” screen.

If not, follow the on-screen instructions to log in.

2. Select a relevant category for your business.

Type a category related to your business into the “Category” field—as you type.

Relevant search results will appear.

Click the category you’d like to use when it appears.

You can select up to three categories.

  • For example, if your business is a Thai restaurant, you might select RestaurantThai Restaurant, and Asian Restaurant.

3. Enter a description of your business.

Click the Page Info tab in the left panel to edit the following details of your Page:

  • The top section contains your Page name, description, and categories you selected earlier. You’ll also see a “Username” section, which lets you create a Page username that will appear in your URL and make it easier for people to find you in search results.
  • In the Contact section, list your phone number, email address, website, and physical location (if applicable).
  • If you have business hours, list them in the “Hours” section.
  • The “More” section lets you add your price range, privacy policy, products, and additional information that didn’t fit into the “Description” field. If your business has accounts on services like Instagram and Twitter, add those under “Other Accounts” to cross-promote.
  • To customize which sections appear on your Page, click the Templates and Tabs tab in the left panel.
  • If you want to allow employees to post to or manage the Page, click the Page Roles tab in the left panel to add and manage roles.
  • Click the General tab at the top of the left panel to manage your general settings, such as your Page’s visibility, profanity filters, age and location restrictions, and more.
  • Click the Messaging tab to control how messaging works on your Page.

11. Access your Page management tools.

Now that your Page contains all the right information.

  • In the Create Post box on the right, enter the text of your post.
  • Use the media options below to add photos and video, to check in at a location, and a huge variety of other features.
  • Click Publish to share the post now or click the down-arrow next to Publish and choose Schedule to publish it at a later date.

13. Go to https://business.facebook.com/home.

This opens the Facebook Business Suite, which is where you can easily create and manage ads for your business on Facebook.

16. Create an automated ad (optional).

  • Click Next.
  • Select a recommended ad type and click Next.
  • Add or edit photos as displayed, choose a headline and additional text, and make any other modifications. Use the drop-down menu at the top-right to check out previews on different platforms. Once you’re happy, click Next.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to choose your desired audience, special categories, and whether you want to leave automatic placements on (recommended). Click Next when finished.
  • Review your ad details and select a daily budget. If you don’t have a payment method selected, select one now.
  • Click the blue Promote Now button to run your ad.
