With their newly-born daughter in tow, Ramsharan decides to not let this hurdle come between them and set out on the journey of changing attitudes towards sanitation and toilets in India.

Along his journey, he meets people like Nirmala (Swati Reddy), who have suffered silently through the indignity of being forced to go outside; Mridula (Neha Dhupia), who was thrown out by her husband because she asked for a toilet; Raju Yadav (Abhishek Anand), the headman who wants to get rid of his people’s age-old tradition so that they can have toilets at home; and many more inspiring characters whose stories are told with wit and humor, making it a heartwarming film about everyone’s right to dignity.

Good Morning Mumbai is a story about five people who are living in Mumbai and trying to make a difference. The movie starts with a couple, Raghu and Shanti, who are running a cafe in Baner. Shanti wants to go after her but Raghu tells her that they need to focus on their work. Next is Deepak, who has been chosen as the chief minister’s secretary.

He talks about how difficult it is for him because he belongs to the lower caste. Then there’s Santosh, a 15-year-old boy who is working at his family’s restaurant since he can’t get an education because his parents don’t have enough money. He wants to be a chef but his father doesn’t let him pursue this dream because he needs someone to take over the business when he dies.

After this, we meet Ajay Singh, an aspiring model from Delhi who goes to Mumbai hoping that he will become successful in the modelling industry.

He leaves behind his girlfriend at home with whom he had just started dating after breaking up with his long-term girlfriend Pia Lalaaland of three years ago.
